Sharifa Sharafkhodzhayeva is a key figure in Uzbekistan's modern art scene, known for her connection to conceptual art. She graduated from the National Institute of Arts and Design in 2003 and quickly started her creative journey, focusing on self-expression and honing her artistic skills. As a member of the "5+1" group, she became a regular participant in exhibitions, especially at the Uzbekistan Fine Arts Gallery. Sharifa's work addresses global issues, with a focus on social, gender, and environmental themes. Through her installations, like lun@lik.ya (2008), Most (2009), and Torka (2011), she tackles these important topics in a clear and relatable way. In recent years, she has worked closely with her husband, Daniyar Sharafkhodzhayev, collaborating on the Pictusculptura project, which blends painting and sculpture. One of their notable works, Artmobilization – Demobius (2022-2024), won the Grand Prix at the 9th Tashkent International Biennale of Contemporary Art and addresses the aftermath of war. Together, they create art deeply shaped by their personal experiences and shared vision.

About "Sharifa Art" Studio
Sharifa Sharafkhodjaeva’s studio is a warm and welcoming place where children feel safe to express themselves, heal, and grow. It’s not just a place for learning; it’s a space for every child to explore their feelings through art, with Sharifa always by their side, ready to guide and support. Known for her kindness and dedication, she listens to her students with an open heart, encouraging them to unlock their true potential. Many of her students are passionate about their art, often participating and winning in both national and international competitions.
During the summer, they gather outdoors to paint freely, choosing themes that speak to them, while Sharifa encourages them to experiment with new skills and techniques. The fresh air and open space bring out their creativity, helping them to connect with both their art and nature.
Not only do Sharifa’s students shine within the studio, but they are also actively involved in events outside, attending art exhibitions, shows, and cultural activities that she invites them to. These experiences broaden their horizons and provide valuable exposure to the wider art world. Sharifa’s dedication extends beyond the classroom; she nurtures her students’ growth both in and out of the studio, allowing them to see different perspectives and meet other artists. The studio, where warmth and patience thrive, is a true haven for children, offering them the chance to grow not only as artists but also as confident individuals.
For some, it has even become a path to healing, with students overcoming obstacles, including battling cancer. Her studio is more than just an art space; it’s a community where every child is valued, heard, and supported.

The Working Process
At ShariaArt Studio, every artistic journey is celebrated with three simple steps: exploration, expression, and exhibition.
Exploration is all about trying new things, from mixing colors for the perfect sunset to learning to apply new and different techniques. It’s a fun, hands-on process that sparks curiosity, with the help of a professional mentor.
Expression is where the magic happens. Students pour their hearts onto the canvas, turning emotions into art. For those facing tough times, like battling illness, this becomes a healing outlet, letting them express what words can’t.
Finally, Exhibition. Watching their art come to life in front of others boosts students’ pride and confidence. Through regular exhibitions, they get to share their creativity and viewpoints with the world, reminding them that their voice and their art truly matter.

Student Body and Community Interaction
"SharifArt" Studio welcomes young artists from all backgrounds, with a particularly meaningful connection to the Onco Hematology School, where students facing difficult challenges come together. This special group dynamic allows the students to share experiences, learn from one another, and grow in a supportive and healing environment.
The studio’s workshops are designed to accommodate every skill level, making sure that each child feels welcomed and encouraged.
Recent workshops attracted many young participants, some of whom discovered their passion for art while others found it to be a path to emotional healing. These workshops also serve as an opportunity for new friendships as they share their personal stories and support for each other.
Through open-house events and collaborative projects, "SharifaArt" Studio fosters a strong sense of community, connecting with the wider local area and reinforcing how creativity can be a powerful tool for healing.
